Snow showers will continue on Wednesday before finally clearing out by Thursday morning. We'll see a break in the active weather through Sunday. Temps will stay quite cool, but the sun will come out for a great 5 day period of sunny weather to get some turns in. Next week we could see a weak system in the middle of the week.

The storm from the last few days performed very well! Bogus and Tamarack performed as expected. I loved that Brundage got a bit more than I thought they would. We have a solid few days of incoming precipitation so let's take a look!

Dry conditions will persist for one more day on Wed, then a storm system will impact Southern BC on Thu-Fri with periods of snow expected for both the Coast Range and Interior along with low snow levels for most. Additional snow showers can also be expected Sat & to a lesser extent Sun-Mon. We will see a break in the pattern early/mid next week with snow chances returning late in the week.

48-hour ‘spring storm’ totals as of Weds morning had 8” reported at Big Sky, with 3” at Bridger and Lost Trail (opens Thurs), with 2” at Discovery and Great Divide. A little sunny break Weds and Thurs before another southerly tracking low swings through the Treasure State Friday bringing back accumulating snow into the coming weekend. Deep totals of close to a foot are possible across SW resorts.

After the big storm that came through we have snow showers hang around over the next 5 days. Accumulations will likely be very light over the 5 day period with the best chances for any accumulation being today, Wednesday and Saturday. Next week continues to look more active with a cut off low potentially bringing in a moderate storm over the Tuesday - Wednesday timeline.

A long-duration storm cycle will continue to impact the Tetons from Wednesday through Sunday with deep totals adding up over time across the higher terrain. Temps will remain unseasonably cold (especially this weekend) which will allow snow to accumulate in the valleys as well. We may see a brief lull on Mon (March 27) then another storm is possible next Tue-Wed (March 28-29).

Storm cycle totals so far on Wednesday morning are 6-17" in the northern mountains with 2-4" of buffed powder overnight. Another 3-10+" could fall through the day on Wednesday for yet more soft turns on Thursday. Colder air and light snow move in Thursday through the weekend for full-on wintry stoke.

Tuesday delivered 6-12+ inches to the southern mountains, and then on Tuesday night, the storm ramped up with snow across the entire state. Now on Wednesday, were are looking forward to a stormy day with periods of intense snow and strong winds leading to denser, surfy powder. This storm will wind down on Wednesday evening, but the chances for snow will continue throughout the weekend.

The San Juan Range continues to get blasted with deep dense snow and strong winds. The Wasatch has remained steady with light to moderate snow, underperforming a bit, with the sum totals respectable. This moist SW pattern continues Wednesday before migrating to a cooler pattern Wednesday night to Saturday.

Wednesday will offer some fresh snow for the Lake Superior region with some lingering show showers along with some fog and drizzle at times. A system will bring mainly rain with some wet snow Wednesday PM into Thursday before another chance of rain and snow arrives for Friday into Saturday.

The storm track during the second half of the week will favor the Cascades and the Rockies with impressive snow totals adding up, while cold temperatures will result in good quality snow along with low snow levels. The East will see periods of rain and mixed precipitation through Saturday with improving snow potential from Sunday into next week.

A few rain showers affect the region on Wednesday, but it should be a mostly dry day. A storm system moves more moisture in on Thursday and Friday with areas of heavy rain. The western half of the Mid-Atlantic will be a lot wetter than the eastern half. Total rain accumulations approach 0.5in with isolated areas of 1-2 inches by Friday evening with more rain on Saturday. Let’s break it down...

Some light rain is likely on Thursday with a storm passing to our north, but snow (or mix) is coming in for Saturday and Saturday night. Weekend totals will be ~3-5" at low elevations and locations where mixing is likely farther south and west, and 6-12" at higher elevations and locations farther north and east.

A ridge of high-pressure will establish itself over the Alberta Rockies Tuesday through most of the day on Thursday. A Pacific low-pressure system and cold front will push in from the west on Friday bringing chances of accumulating snowfall through Saturday morning. Sunshine and Lake Louise look best positioned for storm totals up to 15cm. Unsettled skies continue through Sunday.

The most recent storm on Sun-Mon primarily impacted OR & Southwest WA with light to moderate snow. We will see a break on Tue-Wed aside from some isolated light snow showers. A stronger and colder storm will then impact the entire region from Wed night thru Fri night with deep snow totals expected, especially in OR, along with low snow levels. Cool & unsettled conditions will persist this weekend.

Just a quick update today, as things are pretty quiet until the end of the week. The timing of the next storm has changed a bit, but significant snow is still likely.

An active start to the new season as yet another very wet Pacific system is shaping up to deliver big.

A significant late-season heatwave will persist across the West throughout the holiday weekend before eventually relenting mid to late next week. Daily record highs are likely across much of the West and some areas will break Sept monthly records as well. Smoky conditions have also become more widespread across the Northwest & Northern Rockies. Cooler temps will finally arrive late next week.
